Terms of service.

Short version

ReturnKit is a calm AI-aware planner built and run by Luana Micheau as a sole trader in Ireland. You can use it free in your browser. A paid plan (€10/month, €100/year, or €200 lifetime) unlocks the full workspace, cloud sync, and hosted AI. You can cancel any time. Your data stays yours. These terms keep the rest of it honest.

1. Who you're dealing with

ReturnKit is operated by Luana Micheau, sole trader, trading as luana.systems, based in Lucan, Co. Dublin, Ireland. Throughout these terms "we", "us", and "ReturnKit" refer to that legal entity. "You" is the person using the service.

2. The service

ReturnKit is a web-based planner that helps you manage work, body, and family logistics in one workspace. It runs in your browser as a Progressive Web App and stores your data locally on your device by default. Optional cloud sync (a paid feature) stores an encrypted copy on our infrastructure so your data follows you between devices.

What's free, forever

  • Today dashboard, Body → Cycle, the full MomOps tab (roster, vaccines, mental load), Settings, Roadmap, and a small daily AI allowance.
  • Your data stays on your device. Export to JSON at any time.

What's behind Pro

  • Every tab including Plan, Career, Family beyond MomOps, Pregnancy, Diary, deep journaling, adaptive rules, and life-stage modes.
  • Cross-device cloud sync.
  • Hosted AI Copilot, MomOps Agent, and Personal Secretary (we cover the Claude API costs; you pay us a flat subscription).
  • Priority email support.

3. Account & sign-in

To use cloud sync or any paid feature you sign in with an email address. We don't use passwords. We send you a six-digit code by email; entering that code creates or refreshes a token stored on your device. Treat that token like a password: anyone with it can read your synced data.

You're responsible for keeping your email account secure. If you lose access to your email, you may lose access to the data on our servers (your local data on each device stays put).

4. Trial period

New sign-ups receive a free 7-day trial of the full Pro tier. The trial includes every paid feature, no payment method required to start. At the end of the trial:

  • If you've subscribed during the trial, your subscription becomes active at the end of the trial period and your card is charged for the first cycle.
  • If you haven't subscribed, your account reverts to the free tier. Your local data stays. Cloud-synced data is retained for 30 days in case you resubscribe, after which we may delete it.

5. Payment, billing, and taxes

Prices

  • Pro monthly: €10/month, recurring monthly.
  • Pro annual: €100/year, recurring yearly (saves ~17% vs monthly).
  • Lifetime (beta supporter): €200 one-time, lifetime of the product (see section 7). Pricing ends 30 January 2027.

All prices are in euro (EUR). Stripe processes payment and may display your local currency at checkout as a convenience; the underlying charge is in EUR.

Taxes

Prices are quoted exclusive of any applicable VAT. If your country of residence requires us to collect VAT (e.g. via the EU One-Stop-Shop scheme), it is added to your invoice at checkout. We use Stripe Tax to calculate and remit applicable taxes.

Renewals

Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. We do not send a renewal reminder for monthly subscriptions; we send one email reminder seven days before each annual renewal.

Failed payment

If your card payment fails, your account moves to a "past due" state. We retry the charge three times over seven days. If all retries fail, your subscription is cancelled and your account reverts to the free tier. Your data is retained for 30 days as described in section 4.

6. Cancellation and refunds

How to cancel

You can cancel any time from Settings → Account → Manage billing inside the app, which opens the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until that date.

You can also email us at info@returnkit.life and we'll cancel for you within two working days.

Monthly subscriptions

You may cancel at any time. The current month is not refunded (you keep access until the period ends). Future months are not charged.

Annual subscriptions

You may cancel at any time. Annual fees are non-refundable after the first 14 days of purchase, except where required by EU consumer law (see EU statutory withdrawal below).

Lifetime tier

Lifetime purchases are covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase, no questions asked. After 14 days, lifetime purchases are non-refundable.

EU statutory withdrawal

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days of the date of purchase, without giving any reason. To exercise this right, email us at info@returnkit.life with the subject "Withdrawal" and we will refund the full amount within 14 days.

Note: by agreeing to start using a paid feature during the 14-day window (for example, by upgrading mid-trial and using cloud sync), you are consenting to performance of the contract starting immediately, which may limit the refund per Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive. We will still honour the 14-day window in good faith for any user who has not made substantial use of paid features.

7. The lifetime tier

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product, not yours. We commit to running ReturnKit for a minimum of five years from your date of purchase. We expect to run it for much longer, but five years is the floor.

If we ever wind down ReturnKit, we will:

  • Give you at least 90 days advance notice by email.
  • Make all your data available as a JSON export.
  • Provide a refund pro-rated against the remaining minimum-commitment period, where applicable.

The lifetime tier is a launch promotion for beta supporters. The €200 price is fixed until 30 January 2027, after which the lifetime option will be withdrawn or repriced. Anyone who purchased before that date retains the lifetime benefit at the original price.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose, or in a way that violates Irish or EU law.
  • Attempt to circumvent paid features, reverse-engineer the service, or interfere with its operation.
  • Use the AI features to generate content that is unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or that infringes third-party rights.
  • Submit the personal data of other people (such as your children, partner, or care recipients) without a lawful basis to do so. If you record information about other people inside ReturnKit, you are responsible for the lawfulness of that processing.
  • Use the service to compete with or replicate ReturnKit.
  • Use automated means to extract data from the service beyond your own personal use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules. Where possible we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue first.

9. Health, family, and wellbeing content

ReturnKit is a planning tool. It is not a medical device, mental-health service, or substitute for advice from a qualified professional. The cycle, postpartum, pregnancy, PCOS, GLP-1, bariatric, ADHD, perimenopause, and IVF features are designed to help you organise your own day around your own conditions. They do not constitute medical advice and you should not rely on them for medical decisions.

Vaccine baselines (HSE, NHS, CDC, NIP) are reference material that may not reflect your specific clinical situation. Always confirm with your clinician.

The AI Copilot and Agents can be wrong, hallucinate, or give incomplete information. You are responsible for verifying anything important before acting on it.

If you are in crisis or in danger, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. ReturnKit links to crisis resources in the app but is not staffed to provide help in an emergency.

10. Service availability

We aim to keep the service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security, or operational reasons. Where possible we will give advance notice via the app or email.

Because ReturnKit is local-first, your data on your device remains accessible even when our infrastructure is down. Cloud sync resumes when the service is back online.

11. Your data and privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy policy. In short: we collect the minimum necessary, we don't sell your data, we don't run analytics or ad trackers, and we delete what you ask us to delete. The Privacy policy is incorporated into these terms by reference.

12. Intellectual property

You own the data you put into ReturnKit. We own the software, design, brand, and documentation. By using the service you grant us the minimum licence needed to provide it to you (e.g. to display your data back to you, to sync it to your other devices, to send it to our AI provider when you ask the AI a question).

The "ReturnKit" and "luana.systems" names and the visual brand are ours. Please don't pass off any other product as ours.

13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Irish or EU consumer law.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain all statutory rights granted to you under applicable consumer law. These terms do not affect those rights.

14. Changes to the service

We may add, change, or remove features over time. We will not remove a feature you actively rely on without giving you reasonable notice. If we remove a Pro feature that was a primary reason you subscribed, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of your current billing period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change (for example, to pricing, cancellation policy, or liability), we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may cancel and request a refund of any prepaid amount not yet consumed.

Minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications, contact-detail updates) may be made without notice.

16. Termination

You may stop using ReturnKit at any time. To delete your account entirely, email info@returnkit.life with the subject "Delete account". We will confirm and delete your cloud-synced data within 30 days. Your local data on each device remains under your control and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear your browser data.

We may terminate your account if you breach these terms in a material way, or if required by law. Where reasonable we will give you notice first.

17. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you reside, and you have access to the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

We would always prefer to resolve issues directly. Please email us at info@returnkit.life before any formal action.

18. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These terms plus the Privacy policy are the full agreement between you and us regarding the service.
  • Severability. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right or term is not a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our written consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms (for example, if the business is sold) with notice to you; you can cancel and receive a pro-rated refund if you don't accept the transfer.
